Pamela Trotman Reid, PhD

Pamela Trotman Reid, PhD, was appointed the Provost and Executive Vice President at Roosevelt University in July 2004. In addition she holds the rank of professor of psychology and maintains an NSF-sponsored program promoting math achievement among adolescent girls. Active in scholarly organizations, Reid has been elected to membership on boards and committees of the American Psychological Association (APA) and other professional organizations. She is a Fellow of the APA; an Associate Editor of the journal, Culture and Ethnic Minority Psychology; on the Executive Council of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI); and a member of the Publication Committee of the Society for Research in Child Development. Dr. Reid is the recipient of several national awards, among them are: the Distinguished Leadership Award given by the APA Committee on Women in Psychology; the Distinguished Publication Award from the Association of Women in Psychology; and the Distinguished Contribution to Research Award from the Society for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Issues. Named among the 100 Distinguished Women in Psychology in 1992, she holds a BS from Howard University, an MA from Temple University and the PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
