William O'Hare

William O'Hare is a senior fellow with the KIDS COUNT program at The Annie E. Casey Foundation since 1993. The KIDS COUNT initiative attempts to illuminate the well-being of children, nationally and state by state. Each year the Casey Foundation produces the KIDS COUNT Data Book, which provides reliable statistical indicators of child well-being in every state. The Foundation also funds KIDS COUNT projects in every state. From 1991 to 1993, Dr. O'Hare was the director of Population and Policy research in the Urban Research Institute at the University of Louisville. Prior to joining the University of Louisville, Dr. O'Hare worked in several policy-related research organizations in the Washington nonprofit community, including the Population Reference Bureau, the Joint Center for Political Studies, and the National Social Science and Law Center. Dr. O'Hare received a Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University.
